Single O Japan is a coffee roaster with origins in Sydney, Australia tucked away in the side streets of Ryogoku. Here, between the Sumo stables and Edo-Tokyo Museum, Yu Yamamoto roasts up quality coffee. Most days this space is used simply for production, but recently the team at Single O has added a stunningly simple cafe area which is open a few days a week.
There’s something quite pleasant about the combination of reddish woods, matte black counters, and industrial roaster vibes. The sweet and delicate flavors of the coffee are nice too. Just like their namesake implies: single origin coffees are king here and there is a great rotation of interesting coffees from a variety of farms available. Grab a coffee via Hario V60, Aeropress, or a shot of espresso from their La Marzocco Linea PB, sit, sip, and enjoy.
If you’re looking to get caffeinated before soaking up some culture in the nearby museums, this is the spot!
