The Roastery – Video Tour

The Roastery was one of my favorite shops in Tokyo right off the bat. Here coffee is front and center and everything else is secondary. A menu as clean and simple as this is hard to come by. The Roastery offers three espresso beverage options: espresso, americano, and latte. Inside of the cafe the baristas take up most of the room, but outside there is comfortable patio with a barebones rustic style.

As the name suggests, beans are roasted in shop. As is the trend in third-wave coffee, each crop is roasted to unlock its best potential flavor. On any given day you can pick from two espresso options, or head to the back of the shop for a pour-over. The coffee choices change regularly, so week to week you can find new favorites.

The Roastery by Nozy coffee is a fun and busy place with serious, but friendly, baristas and a hip atmosphere. This shop is a great place to recharge and relax, or to have a lively discussion. The weekends are busy but weekdays are laid back. If you find yourself in Omotesando, Jingumae, or Shibuya this is a great spot to check out.
